The high-strength biaxial steel-plastic geogrid

 

High-strength biaxial steel-plastic geogrid is made of high-strength steel wire (or other fibers), after special treatment, and polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) and other high molecular polymers as the main raw materials, and adding appropriate amount of anti-ultraviolet, anti- Aging additives and other reinforcing and modified substances are extruded into composite high-strength tensile strips with rough embossing on the surface. From this, the single belt is woven or sandwiched at a certain distance vertically and horizontally, and its junction is formed by welding its junction with a special enhanced bonding fusion welding technology (ultrasonic welding technology), which is a reinforced plastic geogrid. By treating the plastic surface during the production process, rough patterns are extruded to enhance the roughness of the grid surface and increase the friction coefficient between the steel-plastic composite geogrid and the soil. The steel-plastic composite grille is made of high-density polyethylene, which can ensure that it is not corroded by acid, alkali, salt solution and oil at room temperature; it will not be dissolved by water or attacked by microorganisms. At the same time, the polymer properties of polyethylene are also sufficient to resist UV-induced aging. After the grid is stressed, the vertical and horizontal bars cooperate with each other, and there will be no cracking or damage of the joints. In practical engineering, after the packing is compacted, it will not be corroded by ultraviolet rays and oxygen, which can fully meet the requirements of permanent engineering construction.

 

Steel-plastic grilles are divided into two categories:

1. The same longitudinal and transverse ultimate tensile strengths are referred to as steel-plastic geogrids;

2. Special-shaped steel-plastic geogrids with different longitudinal and transverse ultimate tensile strengths are called special-shaped geogrids;

1. Compared with traditional geogrid: higher strength, elongation less than 3%, stronger bearing capacity, large friction coefficient, extremely low creep, corrosion resistance, UV resistance, anti-aging, hole clearance Uniformity, convenient construction, long service life, economical cost-effectiveness, resistance to construction damage, and wide application.


2. The high-strength steel wire woven by warp and weft bears the tensile force of the steel-plastic composite geogrid, which produces a very high tensile modulus under low strain capacity. The synergistic effect of the vertical and horizontal ribs gives full play to the interlocking effect of the grid on the soil.


3. The main force-bearing unit of the steel-plastic composite geogrid is steel wire, and the creep value is extremely low. The steel wire of the longitudinal and transverse ribs of the steel-plastic composite grille is woven into a net by warp and weft, and the outer wrapping layer is formed at one time.


4. The rough pattern pressed on the surface of the steel-plastic geogrid enhances the roughness of the grid surface and improves the friction coefficient between the steel-plastic composite geogrid and the soil.


5. The width of the steel-plastic composite grille can reach up to 6m, which can achieve efficient and economical reinforcement effect.


6. The steel-plastic composite geogrid will not be eroded by acid-base and salt solutions, or oil at room temperature; it will not be attacked by water dissolution or microorganisms. At the same time, the polymer properties of polyethylene are also sufficient to resist the aging caused by ultraviolet radiation. After the grating is stressed, the longitudinal and transverse ribs act synergistically, and there will be no cracking or damage of the nodes.

Design application advice

When the geogrid is applied to the soft foundation treatment, the design strength of the geogrid should be selected according to the height of the subgrade fill while determining the location and number of layers of the overlaid grid according to the geological conditions.


1.When the filling height is greater than 4m, the geogrid should meet the minimum requirements of the industry standard, and the vertical and horizontal ultimate tensile force should not be less than 20kN/m


2. When the filling height is between 3-4m, the longitudinal and lateral ultimate tensile force of the geogrid shall not be less than 40kN/m


3. When the filling height is less than 3m, the longitudinal and lateral ultimate tensile force of the geogrid is not less than 50 kN/m, and the elongation rate is less than 4%. It is recommended to use the GSZ60-60 type geogrid as the geogrid for roadbed filling and excavation. The two-way geogrid should be not less than 40kN/m, and the GSZ60-60 type geogrid should be used.


4. When used to widen the old road and the junction of the old road, for the subgrade with a height greater than 3 meters, add a steel-plastic composite grille 20 cm away from the subgrade cap, and use the longitudinal (vertical route direction) limit tensile force greater than or It is equal to 60kN/m, and the transverse (parallel route direction) ultimate tensile force is greater than or equal to 20kN/m of steel-plastic composite grating, and the elongation rate is ≤4%.

 

Construction method

1.The laying surface of the geogrid is required to be relatively flat. After the laying layer is accepted and qualified, in order to prevent longitudinal skew, first draw a white line or hanging line on the laying layer according to the width, and then start laying, and then use U-shaped nails Fix the end of the grille (4 nails per meter width, fixed at an even distance).


2. After fixing the end of the grille, use a laying machine or manual method to slowly pull the grille forward, and manually straighten every 10 meters long until one roll of grille is finished, and then lay the next roll. , the operation is the same as before.


3. Connecting and paving: The length of the laying section is taken as the unit of roll length. After the section length of the grid should be covered, check the laying quality as a whole, and then lay the next section.


4. When laying the next section, the grid and the grid are overlapped with a net distance of a grid as the lap length, and they are fixed with a binding wire and then continue to lay the second section in the forward direction. And so on, the operation requirements are the same as before.

 

Application and role

 

Generally, the soft foundation treatment is used when the filling height is greater than 4 meters.


When the soft foundation is treated, it is used when the subgrade is filled between 3-4 meters or at the junction of the road and bridge to prevent uneven settlement.


The old road is widened to prevent longitudinal cracks from being overlaid at the junction of the old and new roadbeds.
